Introduction
The ICSNN is a biennial international conference series with a tradition that dates back to the 1980s, being the largest satellite conference to the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS). The ICPS of this year will be held on July 31- August 5, 2016, in Beijing, China
(http://www.icps2016.org/).
The ICSNN conference has its roots harking back to another era, to a time when much of the research emphasis was on mesoscopic physics, rather than at the nanoscale which is the focus today.
In the period spanning a little over the past decade or so, the ICSNN conference has been held in different locations around the globe:
- Savannah, USA (2014)
- Dresden, Germany (2012)
- Beijing, China (2010)
- Natal, Brazil (2008)
- Istanbul, Turkey (2006)
- Cancun, Mexico (2004)
- Toulouse, France (2002)
Scope of the Conference
- Latest nanostructure fabrication techniques
- Nanoelectronics with single electrons or quantum dots
- Nanophotonics and quantum optics in single quantum dots, microcavities, and photonic bandgap materials
- Semiconductor nano-spintronics, spin manipulation in nanostructures, magnetic/semiconductor hybrid nanosystems
- Terahertz physics, devices, and systems
- Solid state quantum information processing
- Carbon nanotubes and graphene
- Emerging nanomaterials and nanodevices: nanoelectronics in biosystems, hybrid organic semiconductor systems, molecular systems and devices
- Electronic and optical properties of novel semiconductor structures
We look forward to meeting you at the ICSNN 2016 conference in Hong Kong this summer!
